Hoping for the future

I have been thinking more and more about having a home of our own. We were looking at buying before the economy got in such bad shape. Now I am thinking about it again. It would be so nice having a house where I could have complete control and do some remodeling on.

I want a nice roomy kitchen and plenty of space so I can do some entertaining, Especiallyat holidays...room to have over my husbands full family. It would be great. Right now there is just not enough room to do something like that.

There is a house I might go look at next weekend and see if it comes close to being something we would like.

I like being a homemaker

Being a homemaker is something that makes me happy. I enjoy taking care of my home and get such pleasure from when things are tidy. I enjoying having friends over but it doesn't happen as much as it did in my 20s during my first marriage. It is one of the few things I really miss from that time in my life. I do wish I entertained more but I have a such a small house that there isn't much room to do it. Plus there is the kitty and the kitty hair issues. Makes me paranoid that a stray hair could end up in the food. How do people with pets do it? Do they not worry about it? Do the keep the pet outdoors? The latter is not an option for me as I live in the city and kitty has to stay inside.

Get some stuff done

Got my braces adjusted today.  It's not been too bad with them so far today.  After getting the braces done I went shopping.  It was a good trip...no junk food and got my natural cleaning prouducts I like to use.   I also got stuff to cook a couple of meals here.  We have been eating out way too much.  I also paid a bill while I was out.

I have been doing some house cleaning since getting home.  I ran the vacuum through the house.  And have been working on laundry all day since I got more laundry detergent.  I love the smell of the Full Circle brand I get....nice natural scents...the detergent is chamomile & ylang and the fabric softern is lavendar.  It cleans really well too so that is great.

One thing I really want to happen in the next couple of years is to get a bigger house that belongs to us.  I rent from a nice lady but I really do want to own my own place.  I would prefer a house that isn't super close to all the others.  I would love a nice big yard and room to plant a garden.  And not feeling like everyone can see you if you have your windows open to let air in.  Personally I would probably be happy with a farm house type of house but I doubt that my hubby would be.  I grew up in those old farm houses.  I love a big ol' wrap around porch and plenty of yard.  However right now the economy needs to get better so I feel safe on getting a house.

A nice Peek

It feels like spring is here.  I have enjoyed the last few days so much.  It was such a nice peek into spring.  I had wanted to get some spring cleaning started but it didn't happen.  I forgot about the time change and as much as I love the time change so that I have that extra hour of daylight in the evening it through me off.  I am just now getting my sleep cycle to where I could get to bed last night and wake up in the morning without trying to sleep to closer to lunch time.

The warm weather has flowers blooming all around.  Little bitty wild flowers.  Plus the Easter lilies that have been next the porch bloomed.  This was really great because it is the first time since I have lived where I do that they bloomed.  They come up every year with the greens but this is the first year to see a flower....one lonely little flower.  

The weather is going to cool down the next few days.  I will miss this warmth but I know it will be back soon.
